Danone says considering brand adaptation for Russia

MOSCOW, Apr 7 (PRIME) -- France's Danone is considering adapting its brands for the Russian market, a spokesperson told PRIME on Friday.

"We are studying different possibilities of making the international brands more relevant for the local (Russian) market," the official said.

The company said in October it planned to transfer control over dairy and plant-based product business in Russia.

In February, Danone long-listed about 20 contenders for the Russian assets, the terms of a possible deal would include a 5–10 year buyback option and retention of a blocking stake.

Danone produces brands Prostokvashino, Activia, Actimel, Alpro, Rastishka, Tyoma, Danissimo, Danone, Biobalance, Petmol, Actual and others in Russia.
